WeWork announced expansion plans in Costa Rica, where they expect to operate by the end of 2019. The company seeks to transform local businesses while Costa Rica becomes a gateway into Central America.
WeWork currently has 101 locations around the world and was valued at $ 47 billion in 2018. It is considered the second most valuable startup in the United States. In Latin America, WeWork already operates in Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Chile, and Argentina.
The Costa Rican facilities can receive up to two thousand people, which would be added to the global company community of 450K members, 45% of them managed to grow their business with WeWork,
Expansion in Peru
WeWork has also reported sustained growth in Peru, where it has one year of operations. Jessica Benza, General Manager of WeWork in Peru, affirmed that Lima would become the fourth city with the most significant number of WeWork members in Latin America.
The first WeWork building in Peru was Centro Empresarial de San Isidro, which started operations at the beginning of last year. Today they have four open locations that represent more than 5,000 members.
Latin America, a priority region
Since 2017, the founders of WeWork, Adam Neumann and Miguel McKelvey declared that Latin America was a priority region and one of the places where they would continue looking for locations to overgrow.
